Aniversary Trip

Thursday 26th

We didn't do anything for our wedding anniversary recently , so I managed to book us a Theatre Break in London to see the Jersey Boys musical. I recommend it , it was brilliant (watch the language if you take youngsters..... !!)

Prince Edward Theatre
I made the most of my retirement with my Seniors Railcard and discounts/consessions rates on every thing we did!  The jocks have got nothing on the Welsh!!

View from our hotel window over looking Euston station
We stayed in the Thistle Euston, just out the back of Euston station, and just a short walk from Kings Cross....depending on how much luggage you have?? Not bad for a couple of days,  the station was quiet through the night until about 0700, although the road out side is quite a busy one, a bit of a rat run?

We decided to have a meal before the show, just around the corner in Bella Italia in Shaftsbury Avenue.  Food was excellent, and we got in just before the rush (about 5 o'clock), with plenty of time left to get to the Theatre and with about 20 mins to spare before the start of the show.

Friday 27th

Our boat on the River  the "Hurricane Clipper"
Got ourselves a River Rover ticket on the Thames Clippers.... (Fastest and most frequent on the river) and went down river from the Embankment to Greenwich, and went round the Royal Observatory and the National Maritime Museum.

View of Maritime Museum and Royal Naval Academy from Royal Observatory Greenwich
Then back up river in the afternoon and spent a couple of hours in Regents Park.
Even had a very nice meal in the Garden Cafe in Queen Annes Garden in the park.
